Despite of the fact that the price for square meter in Moscow is constantly growing, there is an increase in demand for larger apartments (in sq. meters). Couple of years ago there was a strong demand for studio apartments in economy class, lately the tendency has changed.

Currently, business class customers priority are two room apartments with a living space of 65 – 80 sq. meters and three room apartments with an area of 100 – 130 sq. meters. Normally, there is no interior decoration in premium class property which allows customers to organize space according to their personal taste.

In Moscow area, middle-class townhouses and apartments in low rise buildings, focused on permanent residence are highly demanded. It is a good alternative to traditional cottages in terms of price though it attracts more customers. Areas with a low-rise property (3 to 7 floors) have less population density in comparison to the city therefore it provides more comfortable environment for living. In general, it is a property with a 200-300 sq. meter area placed on two levels.

In premium class property the demand is concentrated on brand-new apartments of 120-150 sq. meters or 3-5 room property with personal design. An average price for such property customers are willing to pay is from 3 to 5 mil. US dollars.

However, it is important to notice that supply is higher for brand new property and the demand is higher for secondary property. It is a result of dynamic price increase for brand new property for last two years and a lack of supply of attractive elite brand new property.

There is a common assumption that elite apartments are supposed to be big, with a lot of rooms; despite of that there is a strong demand for medium size elite property. Relatively low price and popularity of such property are very attractive for potential investors. This kind of property has its own niche in the market. It is mostly preferred by rich people from the regions who buy it for their children that came to study in Moscow or by young bachelors in top-management.

People used to buy such property without interior decoration, but now the tendency had changed.

Elite apartments with decoration are very popular this time. In Moscow it is generally a secondary market that offers such property. As a common, potential buyers prefer new property with brand new communications and design and an opportunity to make an interior according to their personal taste and needs. Currently a lot of developers are ready to provide apartments with interior design as many potential customers know how it is done on the west. People want to move in right after they purchased an apartment. Unfortunately such property is not available yet.
